Profile

The USDA accession record describes Jasmine 85 as a long-grain aromatic semidwarf (106 cm), late maturing, with yield potential of about 7,700 kg/ha in southern US trials but whole-milling yield significantly lower than other US long grains. It is resistant to all known US races of rice blast and to Rhizoctonia solani. Brown-rice kernels measured at Stuttgart, Arkansas, are 7.3 × 2.2 mm (ratio 3.3); the dimensions on this page are those brown-rice measurements.
