A jasmine-style cultivar with its own name

USDA describes JES as an aromatic, soft-cooking long-grain rice developed with geneticist J. Neil Rutger among its collaborators. In the 2011 account it matured about a week earlier and stood roughly 13 cm shorter than Jasmine 85. These comparisons refer to the release-era breeding account. JES is a cultivar identity; jasmine-style describes its intended market and does not make it a Thai geographical name.
