Profile

According to an IVIA researcher reported in 2020, Bahía was improved to create Sénia, from which both Albufera and J. Sendra were obtained; Albufera was officially created in 2007. The 2024 Valencia PDO specification gives Albufera an average raw-grain length of 5.2 mm, a length-to-width ratio of 1.7 (width derived ≈ 3.1 mm), 99% pearled grains and 25.6% amylose, close to Bomba's 24.9%.
