Origin and character

Victoria was bred by ZPC at Joure from the cross Agria x Ropta J 861. The WUR Potato Pedigree Database gives 1997 as its year; it lists two older, unrelated Dutch potatoes of the same name.

CFIA describes oval to long-oval tubers with smooth to netted buff skin and yellow flesh, a medium specific gravity and a low sugar content. The cooked texture is fairly firm, with little or no discoloration, and it is good for French fries and fresh consumption. It is moderately resistant to late blight.
