Origin and character

CFIA records Lady Christl as bred by C. Meijer BV at Kruiningen from WS73-3-391 x Mansour in 1985. The WUR Potato Pedigree Database gives the same cross and 1996 as its year.

The tubers are oblong, with smooth yellow skin, shallow eyes and light yellow flesh. Specific gravity is low to medium and the cooked texture fairly firm to firm, which CFIA rates very good for boiling and salads. It resists internal and shatter bruising and stores well, but is susceptible to late blight in the foliage.
