Origin and character

Innovator comes from the cross Shepody x RZ-84-2580. CFIA names BV de ZPC as breeder; the WUR Potato Pedigree Database names HZPC and gives 1999 as its year.

CFIA describes long oblong tubers, large to very large, with russeted tan skin and pale yellow to yellowish-white flesh. Dry matter is medium to high and the cooked texture fairly firm to floury. It has good resistance to leaf late blight and resists the pale cyst nematode (Globodera pallida pathotypes Pa2 and Pa3).
