Santé
A yellow, oval Dutch potato bred by J. Vegter at Veendam, crossed in 1971 and released in 1983. It is notable for its broad resistance to viruses and to potato cyst nematodes, and cooks rather firm to floury.

Origin and character
CFIA records Santé as bred by J. Vegter at Veendam in 1971 from the cross SVP Y 66-13-636 x SVP AM 66-42. The WUR Potato Pedigree Database gives 1983 as its year.
The tubers are oval with smooth yellow skin and light yellow flesh. CFIA describes a medium-high dry matter and rather firm to floury flesh, good for cooking and frying. Its resistances are broad: it is resistant to the viruses PVA, PVX and PVY and to potato cyst nematode pathotypes Ro1, Ro2, Ro3 and Pa2, with good resistance to tuber late blight. It is rather sensitive to drought.
